How IMPACT Physical Therapy Can Improve Your Running

Kristin Zajac, 29, of Chicago, is an avid runner and marathoner who believes in the power of proper recovery in order to stay in shape for the races she loves. Currently, she is training for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on October 9th, which is one of two marathons she typically runs each year.

As part of her training, Kristin has been running other area races, including the North Face Endurance Challenge near Menomonee Falls, WI which she will run in September. She also does long training runs about five times a week and uses the Chicago Recovery Room to help recover between workouts.

Kristin first learned about the Chicago Recovery Room while observing a demonstration at Fleet Feet Sports where she works. She decided to give it a  try and appreciated the way that the Chicago Recovery Room athletic trainers educated her about injury prevention and how to work out and train properly.  She continues to appreciate how they care about her and applaud all the Chicago Recovery Room athletes for their accomplishments – no matter how small.

She also likes how the Chicago Recovery Room has helped her recover more quickly from injuries.  While she regularly uses the compression boots and ice bath, she often takes advantage of the 30-minute tune-ups. She sees these tools as both injury treatment and prevention techniques.

The Chicago Recovery Room is located at 1131 S. State St, Chicago. Drop-in hours for members are: Monday-Thursday: 7 a.m. – 8 p.m., Friday: 7 a.m.- 6 p.m. and Saturday/Sunday: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Open drop in hours for non-members are: Monday-Thursday: 3:30 – 8 p.m., Friday: 3:30 – 6 p.m. and Saturday/Sunday: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. To request an appointment, call 312-952-1404 or schedule an appointment online: https://www.chicagorecoveryroom.com.
