The tune up is for specific body work to problem areas utilizing advanced soft tissue release techniques, including ART (Active Release Techniques), Graston Techniques, and myofascial release techniques. Your therapist will help you combat chronic soft tissue dysfunctions, nerve entrapments, and scar tissue buildup. If you have a nagging problem area, a constantly tight muscle, or just feel better with regular soft tissue work, the tune up is right for you.
Love the 30 Minute Tune Up, but have several nagging problem areas? The 60 Minute Tune Up is the service for you. Your therapist will have double the time to address those problem areas, or chronically tight muscle groups leaving you ready for your race, competition, or upcoming training routine.
The Graston Technique® and other instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) tools enable clinicians to effectively detect and treat scar tissue and restrictions that affect normal function. Graston Technique and these IASTM tools foster faster rehabilitation/recovery and resolves chronic conditions thought to be permanent by separating and breaking down collagen cross-links and stretching connective tissue and muscle fibers.
These services are incorporated into our 30-minute tune ups
Active Release Technique is a hands-on soft tissue system/movement based massage technique that treats problems that result from overused muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves.
A muscle treated with ART is shortened and manual tension is applied to the muscle by a therapist’s fingers. Then, the patient actively lengthens the muscle while the therapist holds tension on the muscle. When a muscle is tight, the technique works by increasing the nervous system’s tolerance to stretch the muscle. This can release trapped nerves and break up adhesions, ultimately reducing pain and related symptoms
Dry Needling is the insertion of a filament needle directly into or over a myofascial trigger point in order to release tension and decrease pain. It is also known to improve blood flow and healing to target area(s) as well as stimulate biochemical changes. To receive this service a MD prescription is required.
