“My approach to physical therapy is a personalized collaboration between the physical therapist and the patient that aims to address the patient’s specific concerns and goals. As a physical therapist, I aim to develop an alliance with my patients. I view the patient/therapist relationship as a team with the same goals and interests; to help the patient decrease pain and improve function. To me, there is no greater joy than giving patients the tools they need to best manage their conditions and return to the activities they love. I achieve this through patient education, manual therapy techniques, and personalized exercise prescription. I love to help instill confidence in patients so they can continue to live a healthy lifestyle long after physical therapy concludes.”

As a former cross country and track collegiate athlete who has been through physical therapy herself, Melissa understands the athlete mind-set and the importance of restoring athletic performance and function as soon as possible with the least amount of disruption to training. Melissa has experience with all aspects of orthopedic physical therapy with advanced training in treating lower extremity injuries. She has a passion for treating runners and endurance athletes while utilizing video running analysis and corrective exercises. She loves hanging out with her two dogs, all things Peloton, and sitting down with a good book and a cup of coffee. Melissa is looking forward to furthering her manual therapy skills and taking continuing education courses on women’s health physical therapy in the future.
